Indian expats: 4 passport centres in the UAE closed from 22 October 2026
The Embassy of India has closed four consular application centres. 12 centres stay open for passport, visa and attestation services.
Most delays in UAE government applications come from missing or unclear documents, not from the application itself. A few simple habits save days.
Keep colour scans of your passport, current visa, Emirates ID and a recent photo with a white background. Make sure every page is readable and nothing is cut off.
Note the expiry dates of your passport, visa, Emirates ID, labour card and trade licence. Start renewals well before the expiry date, because late renewals can lead to fines. You can use the free expiry checker on our home page.
Names must be spelled the same way on every document. A small spelling difference between a passport and a contract can cause a rejection.
Requirements and government fees change from time to time. Always confirm on the official portal, or ask us to check the current rules for your case.
